Your old website still works — its look is just out of date

improve

Your website was built three, five, maybe seven years ago. Back then it was great. But now you open it on your phone and the menu is a mess, the font feels dated, and prospective clients quietly judge your business by that outdated look. The painful part: the old website actually still brings in visitors from Google. You don't want to throw it away and start from scratch. This is where a redesign comes in. We don't tear down the foundation that already works — we keep your URLs, the already-indexed content structure, and your SEO history. What we fix is the layer visitors see and feel: the layout, typography, speed, and the flow toward the call to action. The result is a website that feels brand new but loses none of the points you've collected over the years.

// why this matters

Context & rationale.

Many business owners delay a redesign out of fear: 'if I change it, my Google ranking will disappear'. That fear is valid if the redesign is done carelessly — changing all the URLs without redirects, deleting content that actually drives traffic, or moving platforms without proper migration. But a redesign done with a cool head actually raises performance. A modern look brings the bounce rate down: visitors don't bolt because they feel they've landed on a neglected website. A clearer navigation structure lets them find information faster, and that's a positive signal for Google. Improved speed raises the Core Web Vitals score, which is now a ranking factor. More than that, there's a psychological effect that's hard to measure but real: visitors judge your business's credibility within seconds from the website's look. A website that looks like 2018 makes people wonder whether your business is still active, still relevant, still trustworthy. For a business leveling up — targeting bigger clients, premium pricing — a redesign often becomes an investment that pays for itself from just one deal closed.

// our process

How we work.

01

Audit the Old Website

We dissect the existing website: which pages get traffic, which make people bounce, the URL structure, and the SEO condition. The result is a clear map — what to keep, what to fix.

02

Design the New Look

We design a modern look based on your current brand. You see the homepage mockup first, give feedback, then we move on to the other pages. No coding before the design is approved.

03

Build & Redirect Mapping

The new look is built, content moved over neatly. Every old URL that changes is mapped to a 301 redirect — a crucial step other vendors often skip, causing rankings to crash.

04

Test & Compare

Before going live, we test on staging: check every link, compare speed before-after, and make sure no page drops out of the index. You review at ease.

05

Go-Live & Monitor

The new website goes live. We watch Search Console for the first 2 weeks to make sure there are no crawl errors, and that rankings hold steady or rise. Lifetime maintenance starts immediately.

// technical approach

How it works under the hood.

Our principle in a redesign: don't break what already works. Before touching anything, we export the full list of Google-indexed URLs along with their traffic. URLs that stay, we keep exactly. URLs that have to change, we prepare a 301 redirect for each one by one — not a mass redirect to the homepage, which actually kills that page's SEO value. We don't rewrite the old content carelessly; we re-lay it out to be easier to read, but the keywords that already rank are preserved. For the look, we start on the mobile side because that's where an old website's problems are usually worst. Heavy old images are re-compressed into modern formats. Outdated code — unused scripts, old libraries that slow things down — we clean up. After going live, we don't immediately wash our hands: the first two weeks are a monitoring period, making sure the transition is smooth and Google reads the new website without confusion.

// perfect for

Ideal if you...

  • Businesses with a 3+ year website whose look is dated
  • Websites that work on desktop but are a mess on the phone
  • Businesses leveling up that need a look matching their new positioning
  • Websites that still get Google traffic but have a high bounce rate
  • Owners afraid to redesign for fear of losing their ranking

// not a fit for

Maybe not you if...

  • ×A website whose foundation is completely broken — it's cheaper to build new from scratch
  • ×A business that has never had a website at all — that's a new build, not a redesign
  • ×Those who just want to change the logo & colors — that's just maintenance, not a redesign

// real example

CV Konveksi Sumber Rejeki — Madiun

This uniform garment workshop in Madiun had a website from 2017 — a rigid look, couldn't display neatly on a phone, and the contact button hidden in the footer. Oddly, the website still ranked on page 1 for 'konveksi seragam madiun'. They were afraid to touch it. We redesigned the look to be modern, made the WhatsApp button sticky, and tidied up the product gallery — all the main URLs kept exactly, with 301 redirects for the 4 pages whose structure changed. The ranking didn't drop at all; within 6 weeks it actually rose because speed improved and the bounce rate dropped.

outcome

Bounce rate down 41%, WA inquiries up 2.3× without losing rankings

// faq · website redesign

Common questions.

Will my Google ranking disappear after a redesign?

No, if it's done right. We keep the already-indexed URLs, prepare 301 redirects for the ones that change, and preserve the content that already ranks. In fact, the improved speed & UX usually raise the ranking within 1-2 months.

What's the difference between a redesign and building a new website?

A redesign preserves the foundation — URLs, content, SEO history — and improves the look & UX layer. A new build starts from total scratch. If your old website still gets traffic, a redesign is far cheaper and safer.

My website is on an old platform (Wix/Blogspot), can it be redesigned?

Yes, but if the old platform is limiting, a redesign is often combined with a platform migration. We audit first — if the old platform makes your website permanently slow, switching platforms becomes part of the redesign.

Will my old content be rewritten?

Not automatically. We re-lay it out to be more readable and visually tidy, but we don't rewrite from scratch. If you want the content truly refreshed, that can be added as an option.

How long does the redesign process take?

A small website under 10 pages: 2-3 weeks. A larger website or one needing a platform move: 3-4 weeks. Measured from when the audit is done and you've approved the design direction.

Is my website down during the redesign process?

No. We work on the new version on a separate staging URL. Your old website stays online and functions normally. Once the new version is ready and you've approved it, only then do we switch — downtime is a matter of minutes.
